For those new here, every week I explore the delicious world of food and share cool things I find from the past 7 days.
Let’s go!
🐟 #1 Tortilla Española
I made Tortilla Española yesterday. It was a banger. With 4 ingredients (potato, olive oil, onion, eggs) you can make a delicious meal in under than 30 minutes. Chef John’s version cuts the oil in half and makes it easier to flip. Give it a try complete recipe.
🐟 #2 Get Sharp
Knives sharp enough? Counterintuitively, a sharp knife will not only protect your digits but also make you more efficient in the kitchen. Every 3-4 months I go to a local knife sharpener at the farmers market. Search for one in your area and get your knives sharpened. It’s worth every penny. Here is a handy guide from America’s Test Kitchen.
🐟 #3 Croissants Trends
We talked about the latest croissant cookie craze in a recent Food Find Friday. Food & Wine does a great job digging deeper into the croissant trend taking bakeries (and the internet) by storm. I think it’s fun to play with food. Try different form factors, mash-ups, etc. My bet is that the classic French croissant won’t be replaced by the cronut.
🐟 #4 Food TV
I shared my top 5 food TV shows that influenced me.
🐟 #5 Skeleton Food
His son asked for Skeleton Food. Dad turns food into a skeleton. Kid wants food that skeleton’s eat. Parent fail.
That’s it for this week. What’d you think? Hit reply to share your own food finds – I'd love to include them here!
See you next Friday.
