π Food Find Friday - Jan 19, 2024 π
For those new here, every week I explore the yummy world of food and share some cool things I find from the past 7 days.
Letβs go.
π #1 In-n-Out
When I was a senior in high school, we had to create a monthly budget by investigating jobs, housing, food, utilities, etc. The job I considered was In-n-Out. They had great pay (from a teenagers perspective), free food and more benefits. Turns out I wasnβt wrong. According to Glassdoor, In-n-Out is one of the best places to work in America. Given all the layoffs in tech, this might be a bad option π.
π #2 Fancy Fried Chicken
I have a soft-spot for fried chicken. I was going to open a fried chicken and canned beer spot in DC with some friends. It didnβt materialize but it always makes me smile when I day dream. In this article from
a new restaurant in NYC called COQODAQ is serving up banchan, consomme, buckets of fancy fried chicken and champagne. Itβs about time.π #3 Pozole time
Itβs cold everywhere. Why not make a delicious bowl of pozole. I donβt have time (or a pressure cooker) to make pozole for 3 hrs. Iβd substitute the protein with a whole chicken to let it cook for about an hour.
π #4 Do Not Buy Parmesan
This article goes over the differences between Parmesan and Parmigiano Reggiano. Bottom-line: spend more and buy the Parmigiano Reggiano. You can get a nice hunk from Costco for a great price. Just put in a Ziploc and leave in the fridge for all sorts of meals. Worth every penny.
