๐ Food Find Friday - Feb 16, 2024
For those new here, every week I explore the delicious world of food and share cool things I find from the past 7 days.
Lets go!
๐ #1 ๐ต๐ธ
People around the world โค๏ธ Lebanese food. What many people donโt realize is that many of those Lebanese restaurants are owned by Palestinians, Iraqis and Syrians.(Not Lebanese). They brand themselves as Lebanese out of fear. Google now allows businesses to identify themselves in search as Palestinian.
๐ #2 Basmati vs Jasmine Rice
I never thought Iโd want to read about the differences between Basmati and Jasmine rice but this article was super interesting. I tend to disagree with the author though that you can use Jasmine rice for Middle Eastern foods. Itโs probably not traditional but it tastes just as great (learned this from my brother and sister-in-law).
๐ #3 Rice, Rice, Baby
๐ #4 One pot, Greek Chicken
As you know on Wednesdays, I make a one-pot/sheet-pan meal to carry us thru to the weekend. This Greek Chicken and Orzo is on point. You can sub out the orzo for rice.
๐ #5 Six:One Shopping Method
Enable 3rd party cookies or use another browser
This is a viral 6-2-1 shopping method to save money and make it easier to shop when you go to the grocery store. I really dig it. The TL;DR is you buy 6 veggies, 5 fruits (anything with a seed like tomatoes, cucumbers, avocados), 4 proteins, 3 starches, 2 sauces and 1 fun item for you.
Would you like to see me try and do this and share the results?
Thatโs it for this week. Whatโd you think? Hit reply to share your own food finds โ I'd love to include them here!
See you next Friday.
