Ingredients
250g (1/2 pound) of black beans (dried) and rehydrated
2 garlic
1/4 small onion
1 jalapeño or serrano
Teaspoon of olive oil
Salt or bouillon cube
6 cups of water
Directions
Soak beans overnight or for at least 8 hrs
Add beans, onion, garlic, bay leaf, pepper to a pot
Fill up pot with water (to cover at least 2 inches above beans)
Bring to a boil and then let simmer at low temp for about 1.5-2hrs
Add salt/bouillon at the last 10 mins
Notes
Do NOT add salt while boiling or else your beans won’t be soft enough
